Introduction to Fulfilment Plus

The idea for our blogs is to share as much information as possible with customers, potential customers, suppliers, and interested readers out there. We will aim to inform you about Fulfilment Plus's operations, systems, and culture, as well as news related to our operations, industry updates, and important concepts that you should know.
So, let's kick off with how the idea of Fulfilment Plus came around....
Rob and Carl Mills, the owners of Cargo Plus, and I caught up to chat about the 3PL market in NZ and what the landscape and opportunities looks like. The more Rob, Carl and I chatted the clearer it became that there weren’t any NZ 3PL's that wanted to help support smaller ecommerce focused businesses the way we thought they should be looked after. All the large incumbent players wanted to chase the big customers and were focused on putting a volume of pallets into their large warehouses. And the feedback that we had received was that the smaller operators were not delivering the consistent level of service that customers wanted. We saw this trend and decided to do something about it, and Fulfilment Plus was born!
So the challenge was set: Build a 3PL / Fulfilment platform that supports Small and Medium NZ businesses with a focus on ecommerce solutions.
But how are we going to do that?
It wasn’t hard to align on the values that we wanted to work to and the type of operation we wanted to be part of, so ‘The PACT’ was fleshed out:

‘The PACT’ outlines the values that we want to drive through our business to ensure that we can deliver for our customers and provide a service level that is above our competitors. It is the building block of our culture and informs what ‘good’ looks like in our business.
We have selected best in class systems, CartonCloud for a WMS and Starshipit for Transport Management, within these systems we have digitised our operations, no pens or papers in our Fulfilment Centre. Each system is flexible and scalable but robust enough to manage many customers and a large volume of transactions. CartonCloud has standard integrations with most ecommerce storefronts, giving us quick links into our customers systems. We also have a customer facing portal directly from CartonCloud that gives our customers visibility directly into our systems.
Now we have systems and values in place, the next job is to go out there and get the word out about Fulfilment Plus and to start growing.
